SAGUARO COMPOSITES

I started with this composite of saguaro flowers and thought it was pretty neat, but I decided to explore other possibilities. REFERENCE: i 93

Next, I came up with this alternate view, which I like even more.

Then I came up with this third composition, which may be my favorite.

BACKGROUND 12

This a different version of the background I used on number 10. I used the same elements, but Brian suggested that I try starting from the center and radiate the pattern out from there instead of just repeating the pattern across and down. It does give a more interesting effect and will have applications for other designs.

BACKGROUND 11

I offer another background here, made of stars in an 8x12 pattern.

BACKGROUND 10

I have been experimenting with background patterns for the mandalas. If you go to the Brightlight Mandalas site, you will see others I have done recently. These patterns can also be used for cards, composites, borders and so on.
I started this one with one wavy line which I then duplicated and reversed. By rotating it around 8 times, I came up with a nice, but simple design. I then took that and reduced it a little and then superimposed it over the other to get the image you see here. From there, it was just a matter of repeating the image until the page was filled. I then duplicated the whole page and shifted it. After superimposing it over the first page, I wound up with the more complex pattern you see here.

There are many variations that can be done on this theme, and I will keep exploring. I plan to catalogue the backgrounds so that one can choose them for customizing pictures.
